Just a quick update. We took Elijah to the urologist last Monday morning due to previous issues. He was diagnosed with a UTI a few weeks ago so we had to go see a urologist as this is pretty uncommon for infants. He had to have an ultrasound to make sure everything was structurally ok with the kidneys and bladder. Well, everything came out perfectly normal!!! Praise God!! We asked them about everything that happened and why he got an UTI, and why there was blood in his urine. The doc mentioned that the way they collected his urine for testing may have impacted the results. They simply place a bag down there and wait until he pees in it. However, it can become contaminated easily as it is exposed to the skin and skin naturally has bacteria on it, especially down there! So the positive bacteria test may have stemmed from that. In regards to the blood, she wasn't quite sure, but said it could be a fluke thing or something I ate or he just digested wrong. She just suggested we continue to monitor him closely and if anything else happens to bring him in. She also didn't think we really had to go see the GI doc if everything was going fine, but to still keep the appt. for now just in case (it's set up for April 5).
